Behind again..

Sorry I fell behind again! So an update of what we've missed...
May:

June:
Alexa's Kindergarten graduation, she graduated 2nd in her class on the number of skill books/sight words she completed, we were really proud of her!


The girls did a lot of cooking with me, Kayla helped make noodles and brownies on a few occasions.


Attempted to do more pictures of the girls in their Hawaiian dresses that Dad and Lori brought back, but only Alyssa and Em were really in to it so we gave up..maybe next time!


July:
So far, just the 4th, and more tonight; I'll do a post tomorrow morning with pictures from Dad's, but here are some from the celebration with my Mom and her family! We did Willard fireworks again, Alexa really loves it because of the candy drop, I was glad to get some better pictures this year of it..

Since their birthday's are so close together, and my sister had great plans for Alyssa's party they decided to share their birthdays, and I'd say that each of the girls had a great time!
There was:
A bounce house!

Cotton Candy!

A monkey cake! (My sister made it, isn't it great looking?!)

And lots and lots of food for everyone!

On Sunday it was Mother's Day, so I put together a BBQ for my mom's side of the family. To me, this marks the beginning of summer because it's usually the first time we BBQ together like this. Hopefully we can have some more before the summer is over.
There was of course more food, this time Jey was our cook.

We had the majority of the great grand kids so we attempted a group picture, with kids it's almost impossible to get all of them to look and smile, but hey, the amount we got was pretty good if you ask me!

And Abbey loved Emmy and Alyssa's sand box, I really wish we could get one for her here, as you can see..she had a GREAT time in it!

It's almost time for the Tulips to go away, and I'm sad, they are by far one of my favorite flowers and I'm always sad when it's the end of the season. I did however, get some photos this year of them at Jason's moms house.


Our weekend ended with a nice stay in Wendover with Jessica and Jey for Sunday night, none of us really won any money, but we did get to get away for a few hours and relax, and to me that is better than anything!

Dinner Table and Random Thoughts

So, I read this article a few months ago that families who eat dinner 5/7 nights in the week have better behaved children; at the time I read the article we ate dinner together maybe 3/7 nights so we decided to give it a shot. (We now eat 7/7 if we are home, and breakfast/lunch together on the weekends. And no, I haven't noticed a difference in their behavor...)
Both Kayla and Alexa are in charge of setting the table each night, and last night Abbey noticed what they were doing and wanted to help, I think she threw the plates around and made Alexa mad more than anything; but she enjoyed every second of it... (Don't laugh at my plates, we are in need of new ones hehe..)


As you can see, our table is crammed, and 2 nights out of the week we have Emmy here with us as well, but we make it work, and no, the girls aren't normally this well behaved at the table and that is why I took this picture, everyone was actually eating and nobody was poking someone with their fork, or giggling over what their food tastes like. (The 'tastes like' last night was feet..)


Now haha, for the other random thoughts...as you can see our table is used for more than eating, apparently, it's Abbey's spot to watch TV on!

And, the place where she likes to make a taco salad in her water cup, instead of just eating it off of her plate in her chair, she moved into Alexa's seat and tried to make a salad on her own.


I guess my final thought for the night is this, I was thinking about starting some hobby blogs, everyone who knows me knows that I 1-LOVE to bake, and 2-LOVE to take pictures.. any thoughts on if I should fill my time by making blogs about those? Nobody probably even reads this one and I want to make 2 more! Hahaha..

I had girls night out twice, and learned
that Mom, Jessica and I cannot take a good

We cried, and we prayed and prayed for a
dear friends loss of their baby boy;
and are still praying for their recovery and loss.












The girls are bigger every day, Kayla role plays with her toys,
Abbey talks in sentences and says please and thank you,
Alexa can read the bedtime stories now instead of us
reading to them, she now reads to us.
Jason and I are going on a grown up get away next weekend
with my sister and brother in law, and other than that...I think..
you should be up to date! I promise to keep updating, and really
will this time!
